The Palace of Blue & Grey
I am totally smitten with experimenting with camera adjustments until the camera is probably fed up with me!!!!!
The result of my yen for exploring possibilities is this intriguing image of light reflections on the narrow strip of wall above the stove in my old studio apartment on Upper Chapel St. near Norton St. This house. where I lived on the front half of the second floor. had a most incredible 1/2 moon window with ancient, crazed glass and lead mullions. Miraculous window, indeed: It could suck up light and send it back at you changed in a million different ways beyond expression or explanation.
Here we have this X-Ray image, so to speak, of an object I placed on the window ledge and a wondering light band from God knows where enfolded by a world toned down to a lush Garden-of-Eden grey. The blue area is the ceiling, a color created by the accidental interplay of the color adjustment box & exposure compensation on my Sony a6000. That indescribable blue makes me think of an ancient Greek temple and its very being brings life and verve to the image in such an immaculate, complex way.
